Tension springs are generally made with closed coils and are looped at the ends.

Tension springs are generally made with joined coils and have loops at the end. Different types of loop are possible with different characteristics (half loops, hook, lateral hoop, double hoop, triangular loop and many other types). The most common types of loop are:

  • English
  • German
  • elongated
  • swivel

To see all the types of loop visit the dedicated section of the glossary.

For this type of spring a catalogue of standard springs can be found at Springs On Line.

When ordering, to specify a tension spring accurately all we need to know is: the diameter of the wire, the diameter of the spring, the total length and the length of the spring body and the type of loop.

The number of possible combinations is practically infinite. If you do not find your spring among the standard ones available contact us for a quote: we can probably make it to measure and we will be delighted to try and satisfy all your needs, our laboratory can make springs of any type, shapes and size.

As well as large and small series we are at your entire disposal for making samples or limited series and, if necessary, even individual items.
If you need to make a spring for a particular use, you can rely on the support of Mollificio Modenese.
On request, our highly specialised staff can provide all assistance needed with spring calculations on the materials to be used.

Upon request, we can assist the customer in calculating the spring.
Among the materials used to make the compression springs we recommend:

  • Steel UNI EN 10270-1 SM/SH/DH (noto anche come C72 – C85 – C98) – data sheet
  • Stainless steel UNI EN 10270-3 1.4310/1.4301/1.4401 (AISI 302 – AISI 304 – AISI 316) – data sheet
